So far I have learnt working in a team can really ease out everything. There are many advantages on working on a team. Building a high performance team is challenging. Like we mentioned in the elements for the high performance team. I believed setting a goal is huge important. Whether we have 5 children or 3 jobs, If we are working as a team we need to give equal time and effort. We might as well fill others spot but since we are credited we need to be credited for a good reason.
There are various keys to successful team. Successful teamwork is the source of organizational success. The first one is the team needs to understand the goals. I feel it needs to be clear and detectable that each and every team member needs to be clear on mission and purpose. I believe team’s process is reinforced when the organization has clear expectations and work on goals.
Secondly there is a need to an environment in which members needs to feel comfortable taking reasonable risks in communicating, advocating positions, and taking action. Team members trust each other. I feel it is genuine when communication is open, honest and respectful. People feel free to express their thoughts, opinions, and potential solutions to problems. This will help team member to have a strong sense of belonging. If I would be on a team and I am not getting any communication from the team. I would feel that I am left behind. I will bot be secured with my own team. This will generate my strong sense of belonging to the group. I will feel many positive feelings about the group and I will not ruin anything to other team member.
I believed that it is always work in a group or team. Our brain are different than each other. One can be more brainy and creative than other. Some can be innovative with different viewpoint. This kind of extra skills is always welcomed and encouraged. Encouragement always help us to move forward. For example, UBER. The massive 60+ billion dollar company was not supported by many companies. Once it came to market on its own it got its success within few years. Ideas and innvoation needs to welcomed and honored. Insults will discourage the thinker. The team does not support member personality conflicts and clashes nor do team members pick sides in a disagreement. Rather, members work towards the mutual resolution of problems and disagreements.
Finally I believe if all members of the team make high quality decisions together and have the support and commitment of the group to carry out the decisions made. In order to set the direction for the team Participative leadership is practiced in leading meetings, assigning tasks, recording decisions and commitments, assessing progress, holding team members accountable. If the team carries those qualities I mentioned then success and a rewarding sense of teamwork would follow.
